Acupuncture:
A thousands of years old practice of expertly inserting extremely fine needles into the surface of the skin, in order to relieve pain or induce particular therapeutic responses. The World Health Organization endorses acupuncture as an effective therapy for over 43 medical conditions, including the following: allergies, asthma, back pain, carpal tunnel, colds, influenza, constipation, depression, gynecological disorders, headache, heart problems, insomnia, sciatica, sports injuries, stress, and tendonitis. The basic theory of acupuncture is that the body has 14 main energy channels which act as the vessels for your body's energy or life force, called chi (pronounced “chee”), and any imbalance or blockage of this flow of chi can promote discomfort and disease. The targeted insertion of acupuncture needles corrects these imbalances and blockages, restoring the optimal flow of energy throughout the body. At Studio City Health Center, our acupuncturist also practices NAET (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique), a revolutionary new technique that uses a combination of acupuncture, acupressure, nutrition, and other healing modalities to permanently relieve allergies.
